Irwin's Mountain Inn

I booked a room here for myself and three others on a budget, I didn't tell them about the bad reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised and nobody in our party had any complaints! We were in a "2 bedroom", yes, that title is a little misleading, but we had two beds, separated by a door, along with everything else we would need! The beds were comfortable and clean. We could hear noises in the hallway once in a while, but weren't bothered by noise coming from other rooms. We parked our car and walked everywhere the entire weekend because the hotel is close enough. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Pros: location, free bus passes were amazing, the tub was deep so you could have a bath, the view from our room was nice off the balcony. The room was clean and the service was great. Very friendly staff. Cons: a bit dated (carpet, A/C, TV, lobby), the beds and pillows are a tad more firm for my taste, and the TV could have more channels Overall, this is a solid choice for Banff accommodation, and my husband and I would stay here again. We had a great time!

Great location right behind transit stop and everything else within walking distance. Rooms surely looked dated but it was acceptable. We loved our stay with kids as our room had a great view outside and inside was a bigger and spacious room as well. Just no breakfast options available but there were alternatives available outside. Wouldn't mind staying there again.

Good simple hotel to stay in Banff, less crowded, quieter, clean. We had a lovely view in the morning)

A bit of an old hotel, and you can hear the trains passing by, so the soundproofing is quite poor. However, they do provide a 3-day transit bus pass for Banff, which is nice and convenient. Unfortunately, the staff at the front desk were not friendly when I checked in.

I like the hotel. Very clean and comfortable to stay. The staff were friendly. It suited our need to ski. A great location. Great price . Walking distance to the town center. We would choose it in the future if we visit Banff again.

Don't let some of the poor reviews deter you. Not brand new, no but neither am I haha! Our room was clean and more than adequate with fridge, microwave, coffee, & tea. Rocky Mountain Soap Company shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion and hand soap is an upscale Canadian touch. The staff were lovely and when we found ourselves without a snowbrush, they quickly found us one. For the low price of $114 including taxes and fees, literally nothing to complain about.

While the rooms were a little dated, the service I received was beyond anywhere I have ever been. Thank you to the two women behind the front counter I will always have a special place to go while in Banff. Location was excellent and parking easy and convenient.
